The Roush Performance #61 Boss 302 Mustang Earns GS Class Victory at the BMW Performance 200 on Forgeline GA1R Open Lug Racing Wheels

What a way to start the 2013 Grand-Am racing season! With more cars than ever before racing on Forgeline wheels at the 51st Rolex 24 at Dayton weekend, Forgeline customers enjoyed great success.

The good fortune started on Friday with the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge BMW Performance 200. Despite an unprecedented degree of close competition, Forgeline-equipped cars led the GS class, with the Roush Performance #61 Boss 302 Mustang claiming the checkered flag on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GA1R Open Lug racing wheels. Three other Forgeline teams also rounded out the top ten, including the #01 CKS Autosports Camaro in 5th, the #9 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro in 6th (despite suffering a car fire, two days earlier!), and the #38 BGB Motorsports Porsche GT3 in 9th.

Even the CTSCC ST class saw two Forgeline-equipped cars finish in the top ten, with the #24 Autometrics Porsche Boxster finishing in 5th and the #56 RACE EPIC/Murillo Racing BMW 328i coming home in 10th.

And the trophies and stellar performances continued on through Saturday and Sunday with the weekend’s headline event, the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The race-proven Forgeline GA3R claimed two podium spots in the brand new Rolex GX class, rolling to second place with the #22 Bullet Racing Porsche Cayman and third place with the #38 BGB Motorsports Porsche Cayman.

And though Forgeline teams fell short of bringing home any hardware in the fiercely-competitive GT class, the fact that they still managed to finish in the top 20 and under their own power, in a field largely decimated by attrition, is testament to their accomplishment. Forgeline-equipped GT teams included the #72 Park Place Motorsports Porsche GT3 in 14th place, the #73 Park Place Motorsports Porsche GT3 in 16th place, the #78 Racers Edge Motorsports Mazda RX-8 in 17th place, the #94 Turner Motorsports BMW M3 in 18th place, and the #66 TRG Porsche GT3 in 20th place.

We are very proud of the efforts displayed by all of the Forgeline teams at Daytona. We extend our congratulations to everyone who accepted the challenge and our thanks and appreciation to every team that trusts Forgeline to carry the load!
